BEAUX & BELLES e.V
It was in September 1954 that Harold and Thelma Deane, together with a number of employees of the 10th General Dispensary, founded the square dance club Beaux & Belles in Frankfurt.
At that time, dancing was performed to records made by callers at the Hi-Coq Field House in Frankfurt.
At the first class that was held, the very first Germans (members of the Frankfurt Dance Circle) were also present.
Just one year later, in September 1955, this group held a (Fall) Round Up in Bad Wildungen and there, together with the Heidelberg Hoedowners and the Wiesbaden Kuntry Kuzins, founded the European Association of American Square Dance Clubs (EAASDC).
These three clubs became charter members of the association and Harold Deane was elected EAASDC President for a term.
The first formal charter of the Beaux and Belles was drafted by Harry and Betty Benson in 1956 and Samuel Goldmann became the club's first 'live' caller.

the Special Dance of the Beaux and Belles, until then caller-bound and known as the "Subscription Dance", was changed and renamed "Autumn Jubilee".

The Winter Jamboree featured a performance by a clogging group around and with Steve Shuler. The performance for the after party was a great success. Kenny also clogged in part.

New danceplace for Beaux und Belles in the Haus Ronneburg
22 Beaux and Belles travel to Plauen for the graduation of the first square dance club in the GDR. The Beaux and Belles covered the cost of membership in the EAASDC for the first year.
With a tour group from Australia came the caller Barry Wonson, who called together with Kenny.
